‘Agamemnon Counterpart’ has gone viral on TikTok as a trend continues to circulate of people posting ‘don’t google about…’ videos. The clip has a psychedelic appearance but it also appears to be a children’s cartoon, how could something so innocent be so creepy?

Here’s everything to know about the spooky snippet so you don’t have to watch it…

Agamemnon Counterpart is a video where a strange cartoon plays whilst screaming plays in the background. The video has been uploaded to TikTok as a creepypasta post.

The clip was created by Michael Ronson and Jason Kovac who are artists and created it for Destination Imagination 2001, which is an art competition. The video has since been uploaded on YouTube by user fividtelefuzzerator on June 13th, 2006 and made its way to TikTok.

Audio of screaming plays throughout the clip which is reportedly from the French film A Cry From Within, while the music is from the American film The Human Tornado. However, it has also been stated by a creepypasta video based on the Agamemnon Counterpart that the videocassette was associated with a Japanese murder case and that the screams were from the victim.

The video begins with a low-quality VHS warning screen as text appears saying: In the year 2571, a video cassette was found in a pile of rubble on the ruins of a certain blue planet. What you are about to witness are not the contents of the cassette. This is an entirely different recording.

Then the cartoon characters appear on the screen with the words “Let’s Make A New Friend” displayed in front of a sun. The animation appears to be a baby with gloves for feet, and a colourful mouth, as well as another character who looks to be a blue monster. The blue character has a speech bubble appear over it with an “a” and another bubble then appears over the baby’s head with an “o” in it.

The scene then changes to a human with no facial features aside from a nose and mouth that were moving. The scene then changes to several of the blue characters jumping around with the letter “a” appearing in a speech bubble.

The baby appears in the next scene beheaded, as the head floats around the sun and grows larger. This is when colour distortion begins to intensify and the baby’s head is massive with the mouth losing its colour and being bright white. The letter “a” keeps flashing before changing to an o on the third time. The human then appears with a white question mark next to him, and the baby with the letter “a” flashes before a human is seen twitching in the colours.
